Biography

Dr. Abbott obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Human Biology at Oregon State, a Master’s of Human Development at Brigham Young University, and a Doctorate in Child & Family Studies from the University of Georgia in 1983. His current research interests are adolescent sexual decision making, and immigrant Muslim families. In 1996 he received a Fulbright to India and in 2006 a Fulbright to Israel. Dr. Abbott’s current research includes sexual identity development, effects of political violence on Israeli and Palestinian youth, and risk and protective factors in adolescent sexual abstinence.
