Biography

Christopher J. Kratochvil, MD, is an Associate Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and a member of the Graduate Faculty at the University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC). He is also Assistant Director of the Psychopharmacology Research Consortium at UNMC.

Board certified in Psychiatry as well as Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, Dr. Kratochvil received both his Bachelor of Arts and medical degrees from Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska. He completed a residency in Psychiatry at the Creighton-Nebraska Joint Residency Program and was named Associate Chief Resident from 1994 to 1995. He went to Duke University Medical Center, where he completed a residency in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and served as Chief Resident from 1996 to 1997.

He is currently a member of the American Academy of Child & Adolescent Psychiatry, the American Psychiatric Association, the American Medical Association, the Applied Research Ethics Association, the Nebraska Regional Council of Child & Adolescent Psychiatry, and the Nebraska Psychiatric Association. He is president of the Nebraska Regional Council of Child & Adolescent Psychiatry.

Dr. Kratochvil's current interests are in areas related to attention deficit hyperactivity disorders (ADHD), pediatric depression, and genetics of psychiatric disorders. He is well published in both books and professional journals and has vast experience working on grants.
