Biography
Marcela Raffaelli received her PhD in Psychology/Human Development from the University of Chicago and was a post-doctoral researcher at Johns Hopkins University and Rutgers University. Her research focuses on cultural and family influences on sexual socialization and sexual experience, factors associated with adjustment among immigrant Latino youth, and the developmental impact of homelessness on Brazilian youth. She is a member of the Latino Research Initiative, a community-university partnership that is aimed at addressing the needs of Nebraska 's Latino population through programs such as the Latino Achievement Mentoring Program (LAMP). These projects have been funded by grants from the National Institute on Mental Health, National Science Foundation, Woods Charitable Fund, Inc., Cooper Foundation, and Education Quest.
